Carrying on a conversation with a two-year old is an interesting experience that brings a whole new meaning to the word "perspective." Here's a conversation with our two-year from this evening at bed time.
Me: Ryan, what's this? (pointing to a series of deciduous trees illustrating the seasons of the year)
Ryan: Broken.
Me: Do you remember the seasons that we talked about the other night?
Ryan: Broken, DaDa. (pointing to the picture of a tree in winter, bare without leaves)
Me: Oh, I get it. The tree is broken. There aren't any leaves. (laughter on my part)
Ryan: Broken. (smiling)
